Immunisation/Vaccinations

All immunisations given at this practice are uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) - you can access your immunisation history through your MyGov account.

Childhood Immunisations

We offer Routine Immunisations for children (6 weeks – 4 years)  and these visits are bulk-billed. Don't forget to bring your child's 'Blue Book' to your appointment.

Please phone reception to book - depending on the age you will need to book an appointment with 2 x Nurses at the same time or a check-up with your GP before your appointment with the Nurse.

We also send out reminder letters close to the date of any immunisations due.

The NSW immunisation schedule can be found here: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/app/Pages/schedule.aspx

For advice on immunisation schedules, catch-ups/missed school immunisations and eligibility you need to make an appointment with any of our Nurses to discuss.

School based immunisations - we are not routinely able to provide these. It is recommended that all children receive the full course at the school clinic and for any missed doses please organise a catch-up schedule through the school.  In certain circumstances these immunisations can be done by our Nurses however we are not allowed to keep these vaccines in stock - you will need to make an appointment with the Nurse to discuss and order the vaccines in and a second appointment to actually recieve the vaccines.

For more information visit the NSW Health Immunisation Website.

Other Government Funded Vaccines

Whooping Cough (Pertussis) Vaccine - Boostrix/Adacel

Pregnant women are eligible for a FREE whooping cough vaccine in the third trimester (around 28 weeks) for each pregnancy. This will provide your baby with some immunity to whooping cough until they are ready to have their first scheduled immunisations at 6 weeks of age.

Whooping cough is a highly infectious bacterial disease and can be life threatening to a baby who is not vaccinated.

Though it is not free for any other family members except for the pregnant mother it is highly recommended that anyone who will be in close contact with your baby during the first 6 weeks of their life also receive the whooping cough vaccine.

We have Whooping Cough vaccines available for $40 - just book an appointment with the Nurse, no script required.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine - MMR

A Booster is available for anyone born during, or after 1966.

Shingles Vaccine - Zostavax

The shingles vaccine is free for 70 year olds - You must book an appointment with your regular GP for an eligibity screening assessment first as certain people may be unable to have the vaccine, particularly those who have a very weakened immune system. Reception staff will book you ith your GP first and then the nurse straight after.

Pneumococcal Vaccine - Pneumovax

The Pneumococcal vaccine is free for patients aged 70 years or older. Speak to our practice nurses to determine if you are eligible if you have ever had a Pneumococcal vaccine previously.
